I mean, different strokes and all that, but it caused enough of an uproar back then and again even here now to warrant even the apologists to recognize how big of a deal and issue it was/is. Pretty baffling and mind boggling to actually see people in this thread defending and claiming that the original default FoV value was 'fine' though. Wasn't ideal, but it meant that the FoV was at the more comfortable, less vomit inducing level more often than not (And to be honest Bioshock wasn't a game I used Ironsights on much anyway, had some weird mouse acceleration issues that made precise aiming a pain in the ass and crosshair aiming sufficed as a result, though the mouse movement is something else that I hope has been fixed)

RE: The ini method constantly resetting on aim and loading games yeah it did do that, the workaround I used was to double bind 'w' (Walk forward) to my Fov Preference toggle also. Glad to know there are proper fixes these days. Ooh, I guess Flawless widescreen became a 'thing' and more widespread well after I had played and was done with Bioshock. Matters not, it's highly unlikely the remaster will have this issue However there is indeed a way to prevent even that happening. And then you just bring up console to change it back.

OK then explain how to change the Fov without it resetting on sights? Because I have never heard of such. Ignorant? Look up the definition of irony there pal :) You could permanently change the FOV very easily.

I couldn't tell you exactly what I did at the time but I'm sure if I googled it I could tell you. Just because you didn't know how to do it doesn't mean others couldn't figure it out. So yes, you could and you could do it so it did not reset, ever.

I didn't say there was an option in the game itself but altering ini files is hardly out of the norm for a PC game. I played the original game when it was released and hated the default FoV so I changed it. Once in a blue moon, some weird animation combination makes it not work, at which point I just have to tap the right mouse once to fix it.Автор сообщения: TheDyingScotsmanYes you could. This fix only works if you have nvidia or AMD i think. I was crashing every 5 minutes and having my dificulty and controls reset. The 0.25 seconds gives time for the zoom out animation finish, at which point it presses the numpad period key automatically, resetting the FOV. Generally the two most effective techniques for resolving crashes is to verify the game cache and reinstall redistributables. 4:07pm Ultra Wide monitor issues The only problem I noticed is right you pick up. The issue is DP 1.3 (so none of the bullshit compression of DP1.4) only supports that resolution at 74.4hz, so you couldn't even have a 75hz panel at that until we get the next generation of connection, which is forever away since. I have a BioShock 2 profile with a command configured to press numpad period 0.25 seconds after the right mouse button is released. Can't wait til we can just get both 21:9 and 4K. Another good solution is to use something like VoiceAttack. I made a bind to set the FOV using numpad period (see below). I have hold to zoom enabled (see PCGW Bio2 Remastered), so my FOV gets reset a lot.

You can repeat this for backward and both strafes, making your FOV reset any time you move. For example:Īliases=(Command="Axis aBaseY SpeedBase=1.0 Speed=+1200.0|HACK_TriggerEffectEvent PlayerMoved|onRelease HACK_UnTriggerEffectEvent PlayerMoved",Alias=MoveForward)Īliases=(Command="Axis aBaseY SpeedBase=1.0 Speed=+1200.0|HACK_TriggerEffectEvent PlayerMoved|onRelease HACK_UnTriggerEffectEvent PlayerMoved | onRelease SetForegroundFOV 75",Alias=MoveForward) Locate a button you'd like to add it to in the User.ini file and add " | onRelease SetForegroundFOV 75" to the end of the command. That said, you can make it "permanent" by integrating the reset command into common controls, such as movement. So the hex editor option did not work for me as of November 2022 with the Steam version.
